Increasingly, the Paintings and Sculpture Collection has taken part in national and international art exchange schemes, and is happy to provide other museums with exhibits for important exhibitions.
In recent years, objects have been lent to Mainz, Bonn, Münster, Munich, Bremen, Berlin, Cologne, Aachen, Essen, Dresden, Frankfurt, Magdeburg, Kiel and Vienna, London, Washington, New York, Tokyo, New Delhi, Bombay, Strasburg, Prague, Warsaw, Los Angeles and St. Louis, as well as Paris.
Loans comprised paintings by Albrecht Dürer and Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, sculptures by Peter Vischer and Peter Flötner, scientific instruments once owned by Regiomontanus, the oldest astrolabe, hailing from the Arabian area, and the oldest existing three-dimensional goldsmiths' work ("Huitzilopochtli") from Central and Southern America.

If you want to find out which of the high-quality works from the stocks of the Paintings and Sculpture Collection have been on loan or are presently on loan for special exhibitions, please consult the German website.
